Your lesson for today . . .
On a related note, we’ve recently discovered the joys and deliciousness of protein pudding. You need make sure you get sugar free, fat free INSTANT pudding (actually the stuff with sugar and fat might work fine, but it defeats the point). If you get the cook and serve, the heat will denature the protein, so make sure it’s instant. Add a couple heaping scoops of protein powder, then the pudding with the amount of milk on the package directions (I usually try to get the large packages of pudding). Whisk it together vigorously for a couple of minutes. If you don’t whisk it enough it gets a bit grainy so don’t be shy with it. Then put it in the fridge for about 5 minutes and enjoy! (Skim milk works best as the fat in regular milk does not bond as well with this kind of pudding for some reason.)
This stuff is awesome. It’s really good for us as neither Maritus nor I can drink protein shakes. They give me headaches and make both of us nauseous. This doesn’t bother us the same way. It’s not as much protein as you would get in a shake (unless you eat a ton of it), but it is definitely better than none.
So far we have tried chocolate pudding with chocolate protein powder. If I can find the sugar free butterscotch I would like to try that with vanilla protein. Also, the cheesecake pudding with vanilla protein would be fantastic. Or lemon, or pistachio, or vanilla . . . . .
